Cinema for Change presents Sprinkles: Decoded
Description
Sprinkles: Decoded – A Film & Talk About New Media Cinema for Change presents a special 9/11 commemoration FREE SCREENING – First Come, First Served. RSVP Available. Join Alliance for the Arts for a special edition of Cinema for Change featuring Sprinkles: Decoded, an interactive film and media literacy program that explores how we consume, interpret, and respond to information in an increasingly complex media landscape. More than a traditional film screening, Sprinkles: Decoded combines film with conversation and audience participation, encouraging viewers to think critically about new media, the information we encounter every day, and the ways media can influence our understanding of events and one another. Presented in commemoration of September 11, this program creates an opportunity to come together as a community for thoughtful reflection, discussion, and greater media awareness. The interactive discussion will be led by the film’s director, Chicago-based filmmaker Andrew Korzenik. The program recently received an enthusiastic response in Salem, Massachusetts, where it was presented in partnership with the Salem Athenaeum. Audience members actively participated throughout the event, remained afterward to continue discussing the presentation, and engaged directly with presenter Andrew. Sprinkles: Decoded now comes to Fort Myers as part of Alliance for the Arts’ Cinema for Change series.
